New: Five Little Bunnies!
Spring is my favorite season, and Easter is my second favorite holiday, so I've gotten ready by adding 5 little bunnies in bright spring colors to the shop:
One of these little fellas would make a perfect addition to some sweet little boy or girl's Easter basket! Visit the shop to check them out!

Screen Printing Fun!
This doesn't have much to do with sewing...but I wanted to share with you my first screen printing experience! I got the Yudu screen printing kit for Christmas, and I absolutely love it.
I was SO excited and pleased when I lifted the screen and saw this! I can't believe it turned out so well the first time. Applying the emulsion to the screen was a bit tricky; you have to get the screen wet, but not too wet, and there can't be any air pockets in it. After exposing it, tiny parts of the edge of the image were peeling up when I was rinsing away the unexposed area (the image), so I didn't expect it to turn out well. But look how crisp the edges are, even the tiny lines in the words! Hopefully I'll be doing a lot of this in the future!

Sorry for the reduction in image quality in these last pictures; my camera died and we had to take the rest of them with my phone!

Introducing Three New Designs!
As promised in my last update, I'm ready to show you three new doll designs I've been working on over Christmas break! Here's the first one:
Tiny Tabitha is indeed tiny...she's only 7 1/2 inches tall from head to foot. She has yarn hair arranged in pig-tail fashion, a simply embroidered face, and a gathered one-piece cotton print dress. She is the first of her kind (many to follow!), and will soon be available in my Etsy shop for $15.
Little Lucy is also a small soul, measuring in at approximately 9 inches. She has sewn on clothes (with the exception of her removable elastic-waist skirt) and hair and a simply embroidered face. She is also the first of her kind, and will soon be available in the shop for $20. A boy version with a removable jacket is coming soon as well!
And speaking of boys, I have been wanting to incorporate more boy-friendly toys and dolls into my shop. Here is the first:
Fuzzy-Wuzzy is approximately 16 inches tall and made of soft, cuddly polyester faux fur with cotton print and wool felt embellishments. He even has a little bob-tail. Again, he's the first of his kind and will be available in the shop for $35.
I have had so much fun designing and creating these little folks...I so wish I could do this full time! Other plans I have for the shop are making more collectible dolls like the one in this post, and Cute n' Classic dolls dressed in more modern clothing. I can't wait!

Update
I'm sorry I haven't had much to write about the last few weeks; there's just not much going on! The shop is open, though I'm not taking any local orders until the first of January. The Thanksgiving/Christmas season has been very busy, and I haven't had much time to work on anything new. It's so hard to build a home business when you're also working full-time. In a perfect world, this WOULD be my full-time job, but as it is, I'm thankful for the job I have! So I just wanted to pop in here to let you know that I'm still watching the shop daily, and looking forward to making more things for it and taking local orders again soon. I'm always daydreaming about new designs, new ideas...oh, someday I will have time to make them all a reality!
